My post that I did last night wasn’t all that true, It was distorted due to several items:
I was upset with my Mother for not letting me play on the Xbox 360,
I was trying to prepare myself for what I hoped would be a good night to possibly write a very sarcastic post about Fantasy Football,
and I was a little depressed after a hard day of School.
I believe that first, I hurt Dad’s feelings, second, It may not have been a good time for Sarcasm, and last, I probably overdid it. I’ll start with my statement about the food, “So we had Hamburgers, beans (I’m still trying to figure out why that room smelled so bad), three different kinds of chips, pretzels, corn, and several different drinks.” My corrections on this statement are:
first, the room didn’t smell too bad, only about the same as it always does,
second,–uh– actually, that may be the only correction.
Also the Video Games didn’t seem quite as fun as I made them out to be but there were a couple of funny parts. Namely, Mr. Phil got stuck in a room when we were playing Call of Duty 2 and started yelling, “Yaaah, let me out of here! How do I get out?!?” I also like the part when Ben saw me go by and I stopped, so he shot past me and I got him in the back. That was kind of funny to see a tan blur go flying past me and I hit him correctly on my first try.
The talking didn’t take that long either but I had trouble remembering half of the stuff that anyone said (there are exceptions). Mr. Sam did a good job with his “Ash tray, picture, and a Chinese Mind Puzzle.” Mr. Phil did the best by giving me three pages with everything he said and then some. Other than them the best one I remember was Mr. Stuart who said, “Well, I just wish you the best.” It only seemed like a long time because of the prayer and the fact that my legs were just itching to move. After the prayer I felt like a hat rack. All the extra weight and my legs threatening to collapse on me is what made it seem to take forever.
I hope I covered everything and that any questions left from my last post were answered. Okay, I’m done for now so that I can go do Schoolwork.

One Response to “The Real Thing”

Josh,
It takes a man to admit when he has made a mistake in how he has handled something, and be willing to go back and try to make it right. I am proud of you for putting up a second post on marking the beginning of your journey to manhood. I understand you had a hard day leading up to Dad asking you to post your thoughts on Friday night, and that it impacted your attitude in the first post. I appreciate that you were willing to go back and explain a little more when you realized that your Dad was feeling like he had put a lot of time into something that you didn’t value. It is okay that you didn’t understand everything that all the guys talked about. Some day you will, and hopefully God will bring back the snippets of advice you received when they are needed, in addition to bringing His Words to mind. I am proud of the young man you are and look forward to seeing the godly man you grow in to.
Love,
Mom
