Sorry if I’m incomprehensible, but I’m still recovering from the second blow of lightning in a month. First I get this really cool 30-something yard touchdown reception (we’re still debating whether it’s 30,32,33,35,36, or 38 yds), and now this. On Saturday during a 20 - 6 beating of the Bears I caught a 40-something yard touchdown (we’ll probably never agree on whether it was 41 or 46, but that’s besides the point). This one was better than the first one in three ways. Allow me to explain how it was better and you will see my point.
The first reason is this. I caught it from the tight end position on a corner route. I’m not allowed to tell you more for fear that you might accidentally spill the beans to an opposing player or coach (sorry). However I caught it on a corner route right behind the CB and ran about 20 yds to the endzone where I nearly got knocked off the field at the 1 but I made it just barely past the safety. I almost had 2 others but the one went over my head and the other was jarred right out of my hands when the CB came outta nowhere and blind-sided me (hold on, I’m wandering).
Reason number two happens to be because it was the first TD of the game, and wowee was it sweet. It was the first big play of the game.
Now, reason number three, this is why I’ll go down in the Hall of Fame. When I caught it, it was nearly impossible to see (only angels, God, the devil, and his demons can see it), but there were about three demons chasing me the whole way. And oh my word can they run fast. They tried to speed up the safety but he was on the other side of the field so I escaped their evil clutches (but just barely). The reason I know this happens to be an odd one but I’ll tell you anyways. I was thinking about what would be really cool to say about it and then I thought, “What if devils were chasing me. And what if I had to out run them? Wow, that would be good.”
Ok, now that you have recovered from that severe attack of the coughs (we both know you were laughing), we can proceed. Before I let you go do something else that is probably much more important than this I would like to tell you something really cool about one of my games on the XBox 360. In the first game of the year I got 3 INT’s, a fumble recovery, and 2 Defensive TD’s (it was in NCAA ‘07). After that stunning performance (I’d like to mention that he also had something like 6 tackles along with this one player’s incredibe turnover ratio, I mean, he’s on D, he hasn’t had any turnovers that I can think of) he, a SS in his senior year, was #3 in the Heisman Watch. I mean, really, a SS? Ha, talk about lightning strikes… Bzzh! Something happens when I say that apparently. Anyhow, go back to your important stuff and don’t come back ’til next Monday night, at least. I’ve been busy lately.

It was another great catch, Josh! It was exciting to watch and really great that so many of your family members were there to see this one! And of course, Mason was there too! I’m glad you are enjoying playing. I am pretty certain the announcer said it was a 46 yard reception, but not sure if that was to the point of the reception or the completed play to the end zone. It was long. Keep up the hard work at practice and the good attitude.
